Family Day: Winterfest Returns to Ajax!

Family Day is right around the corner, which means that it’s almost time to celebrate Winterfest in Ajax! 

Winterfest is a week-long celebration in Ajax, full of free family-friendly events, contests, and other community activities. It’s all about staying active during the cold winter, trying new things, and mingling with others in the community.

From February 21st to the 27th, you and your family will have so many opportunities to have fun in Ajax! There will be free public skating at the Ajax Community Centre, McLean Community Centre, and the Audley Recreation Centre. If you prefer outdoor skating, head to Pat Bayly Square, which is just 2 minutes away from Fieldgate’s aTowns community at Bayly St. and Salem Rd.! There’s also outdoor skating at Carruthers Marsh Pavilion and Rotary Park.    

If you’re tired of the cold and doing all you can to avoid it, then you should check out the Ajax and McLean Community Centres for free swimming times. The Ajax Public Library will also be offering some family-friendly programming; one of the events is outdoors though, your kids will love storytime outside in the snow! 

Feeling creative? One of the biggest events of Winterfest is the Snow Creations Photo Contest. Whether you’ve made a snow fort, a snow angel, a snowman, or anything else out of snow, the Town wants to see what you’ve come up with! All you have to do is share a photo of your snow creation on social media, tag the Town of Ajax, and use the hashtag #TOAWinterfest. Make sure you get your photo posted before February 27 at 11:59pm.
