We’re Breaking Ground At Impressions!

IMG_6465

Usually, an event like this requires much more pomp and circumstance, but we’re too excited to endure a long ceremony involving giant scissors and  ribbon cutting, so we’ll get down to the nitty-gritty. There are shovels in the ground at impressions.

Fieldgate Homes How-To: Get up to the cottage easier

400-sign

Oh boy, it’s that time again — where families across the GTA pack up and head to the hallowed north of cottage country for a weekend of outdoor activities, relaxation, fireworks and…bug bites.

Not everyone has the pleasure of leaving work early on a thursday to head north, and since we’re all coming from different directions we thought this would be the perfect opportunity  for Fieldgate Homes to provide some handy alternate routes to the great Ontarian north.

So while we all know that the 400 is the gateway to the north, to which all must go through, there’s no getting over that. But there are ways to speed up getting out of the GTA.

Hwy 27.

Yes, taking it all the way through Kleinburg is a very picturesque way to do it. Did you know before the modern 400 was built, this was one of the only ways up north?

404 then north through downtown Bradford.

This one is for you Markham-ites,  people often overlook the fact that the 404 takes you into newmarket, that’s like, halfway to barrie already and through the worst of the  400 squeeze. it’s a pretty great route to cut your cottage commute in half.

115 to 35 and away we go? Not entirely.  as we all know, the 401 can be hellish at the best of times, but at long weekends? Forget it. One of the best ways to get up to the Kawarthas while still retaining some semblance of sanity is to take hwy 7 to hwy 12 and come in the back roads to Ontario’s playground.
